DrawTrainer has no accounts, no sign-up and no advertising. It does not know who you are, and it is not built to find out.
Your practice history stays on your device
Every drill attempt, session, record and trophy is stored in your own browser, using its local storage. It is never uploaded, and nobody else can read it — not even me.
The flip side is that it is only as safe as this browser. Clearing your site data erases it, and it does not follow you to another device or another browser. There is no copy anywhere to restore from.
What DrawTrainer sends
To learn whether the app is any good, it sends a small anonymous message when something notable happens — the app opens, a drill starts, an attempt is scored, a session finishes, a trophy is earned. Each message contains:
- which of those things happened, and which drill it involved
- the score, how long the stroke took, and whether you used a pen, mouse or touch
- how many sessions this browser has done, and how many days ago the first one was
- the page address within this site, the site you arrived from, and your browser’s language setting
The server that receives these also records the time and your browser’s user-agent string, which describes the browser and operating system version.
What it never sends
- Your name, email address or any contact detail — it never asks for one.
- Anything you draw. Strokes are scored in your browser; only the resulting numbers are sent.
- Your practice history. Only the two counts described above leave your device.
- Any identifier. No cookies. No advertising or tracking identifiers. Nothing is stored on your device for statistics, so two messages from you cannot be told apart from two messages by two different people.
That last point is the deliberate design of this app. It means I can see that somebody has practised twenty times, but not that it was you, and not which visits were yours.
Where it goes, and for how long
The messages go to my own server in Stockholm, Sweden, and from there to a computer in my home. No analytics company is involved and nothing is sold, shared or used for advertising. The data is automatically deleted from the server after 90 days; I keep the anonymous counts for longer to compare one month against another.

If you would rather not send usage statistics, you can switch them off here. The app works the same either way.

If this changes
DrawTrainer may later offer an optional paid account that backs up your practice history. That would mean storing data about people who sign up, and this page will be rewritten before any of it is built. Nothing described above changes without this page changing first.
